Session 1: Introduction & Getting Acquainted (Completed)

Session 2: What is Data & Why Databases Matter

  • What is data? Why databases matter in real life & jobs
  • Introduction to types of databases: relational vs non-relational
  • Tools that will be used (MySQL, dbdiagram.io, etc.)
  • Real-life applications of databases
  • Relational vs. Non-relational databases
  • Tools overview: MySQL, dbdiagram.io

Session 3: Data Modeling & ER Diagrams

  • Tables, rows, columns, and schema explained
  • Primary keys, foreign keys, and constraints
  • Entity-Relationship modeling
  • One-to-many & many-to-many relationships
  • Hands-on with dbdiagram.io

Session 4: SQL Basics – Part 1

  • Creating tables, data types, and constraints
  • Writing your first SQL commands

Session 5: SQL Basics – Part 2

  • SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, DISTINCT
  • Practice queries using real data

Session 6: Aggregation & Grouping

  • COUNT, SUM, AVG, GROUP BY, HAVING
  • Use case: Analyze student or sales data

Session 7: Understanding Joins

  • INNER, LEFT, RIGHT joins
  • Merging real-world datasets

Session 8: Normalization Made Easy

  • Why normalization is essential
  • 1NF, 2NF, 3NF with examples

Session 9: SQL vs NoSQL

  • Introduction to NoSQL (MongoDB, Firebase)
  • When to choose SQL vs NoSQL

Session 10: Use Case – Mini Project

  • Design a Library, Job Portal, or E-commerce DB
  • Create schema, write queries, and build reports

Session 11: SQL for Data Analysis

  • Real-world analytical queries
  • Preview: Connecting SQL with Power BI

Session 12: Career Launchpad – Interview & Resume Tips

  • SQL interview questions
  • Resume dos and don’ts for database roles

📚 Assessments & Assignments

  • 2 assessments will be conducted to test your SQL and database design understanding
  • Assignments will be practical and aligned with the project sessions
  • All activities will be hosted in Google Classroom, and weekly sessions will be held to clarify any doubts. 
  • Classroom code will be shared via WhatsApp group
